General Information

Vermont Youth Strings, our youngest string orchestra, is conducted by VYO alum Ace Ali! The 35-50 young VYS musicians learn the essential skills of ensemble playing with other students from across Vermont. VYS holds a 2-day Mini-Camp in August, presents two concerts each year, performs in local schools and is famous for their themed orchestra parties during the season! Students are accepted into VYS based on audition.

Tuition & Financial Aid

Annual tuition fees for participation in the VYOA instrumental and choral programs vary. For the 2020-21 season, tuition for Vermont Youth Strings is $850.00. Please note that tuition is non-refundable. The tuition fees for each ensemble program are announced in June and published in the VYOA Handbook given to each student at the beginning of each concert season.

Financial Aid: The VYOA believes strongly that no child should be discouraged from participating due to financial need. Need-based financial aid is available to all families who wish to apply. Please contact our office for additional information on Financial Aid options or to receive a hard-copy of the Financial Aid application.
