Overview
Individual lessons are a critical part of a young musician’s journey. VYOA’s lesson program provides the opportunity to develop strong habits for studying music. Our faculty of professional musicians share their passion with the next generation, helping them develop a lifelong relationship with their instrument. Each semester includes recital performing opportunities as well as special group learning workshops and events, based on the learning needs of the community.

Questions

The recitals are the gem of the lesson program. Perhaps my favorite part is how varied each recital is, from ages to instruments to repertoire. We have the pleasure of watching a 6-year-old violinist perform Twinkle Twinkle with a pianist for the very first time, immediately followed by the performance of a movement from a concerto. Students get to see in real time where they’ve been and where they’re headed.
