Naomi Shpaner

Senior Soloist Naomi Shpaner takes the lead with Rachmaninoff’s sweeping Piano Concerto No. 2. Naomi shared her thoughts on her solo, saying “The beautiful theme at the very end is my favorite part – it’s like rays of sun shining through a cloudy sky after it rains.” She explains, “Rachmaninov wrote this concerto after a long pause due to a period of low self-esteem, a struggle many musicians, including myself, can relate to. The ultimate success of this concerto encourages me to never give up on my passion, no matter how hard weathering the mental storm may seem.”
