Music Teacher Directory

The Music Teacher Directory is an online-only publication, listing private teachers (by instrument) and music related businesses and services.

Music Day Camp

Music Day Camp offers young musicians an opportunity to develop musical skills while making music in both large and small ensembles. Daily activities include classes in symphonic band, orchestra, chamber music, small ensemble participation, master classes, and individual instruction.

Reveille! Music Festival

VYO & VYP begin their seasons with a residential, 7-day festival held at the Elley-Long Music Center at Saint Michael’s College every August. All VYO & VYP members are expected to attend Reveille!

Endangered Instruments

This program provides subsidized private lessons to encourage students to play instruments that are typically difficult to recruit for our orchestras (such as string bass, French horn, and bassoon).

Music Alive Composer-in-Residence

This program provides young musicians with an opportunity to work with a skilled, living composer, an experience that can extend beyond the residency into our students’ future musical endeavors. Robert Paterson has served as VYOA composer-in-residence since 2009; his three-year residency will culminate in the world premiere of a new work written for the Vermont Youth Orchestra and Chorus in May 2012.
