Who should audition?
Any young singer in grades 6-11, who is able to read music, match pitch and blend with others is welcome to audition for the VYO Chorus or Vermont Youth Concert Chorale.
*Students must participate in their school choral program, if one is offered.
What do I prepare for my audition?
- An a cappella performance of a song of your choice. Please bring a copy of your music for the Audition Committee.
- Pitch Matching. Singing back notes that are first played on the piano.
- Sight Reading. Be prepared to sight read a brief melody presented to you at the time of the audition.
How long do auditions take?
Each audition takes approximately 10 minutes.
