Vermont Youth Orchestra
Rehearsal: Sunday afternoons from 12:45 to 3:45 p.m.
The VYO presents three major concerts each year at the Flynn Center for the Performing Arts and other regional venues, performs at First Night Burlington and tours internationally every other year. The season begins with the Reveille! Music Festival in early August.
Vermont Youth Philharmonia
Rehearsal: Sunday afternoons from 4:00 to 6:30 p.m.
VYP presents three major concerts each year, performs during local school tours and participates in exchange programs with other youth orchestras. The season begins with the Reveille! Music Festival in early August.
Vermont Youth Sinfonia
Rehearsal: Sunday afternoons from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m.
Sinfonia is a full symphony orchestra that presents two concerts each year and performs during school tours. The season begins with a two-day Minicamp in mid August.
Vermont Youth Strings
Rehearsal: Saturday mornings from 10:00 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.
VYS provides orchestral experience for string players. VYS presents two concerts annually, performs in local schools, and holds great orchestra parties throughout the year! The season begins with a two-day Minicamp in mid August.
Vermont Youth Chamber Winds
Rehearsal: Saturday mornings.
Coaches may vary per session. An excellent opportunity for wind players, saxophonists, brass players and pianists to participate in small chamber music groups, VYCW students learn essential ensemble skills during intensive weekly one hour coaching sessions. The semesters culminate with concerts in November and March.
Presto
Rehearsal: Saturday mornings.
Presto introduces young string players to ensemble playing. Presto meets in several 5-week sessions during the school year. No audition is required for admission to Presto, but students are welcome to participate in VYOA auditions if they choose.
VYOA Choruses
The VYO Chorus (VYOC) performs masterpieces of choral repertoire and provides students an extracurricular community choral opportunity complementary to their school choral programs. Rehearsal: Tuesday evenings from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m.
The Vermont Youth Concert Chorale (VYCC) provides a strong foundation for vocal development and choral musicianship for the next generation of choral singers. Rehearsal: Tuesday evenings from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m.
